STRANGERS THE KU KIDNAPPING (Stranger Danger)- With Kunatos back in charge, he’ll do anything to crush the Neon Tiki Tribe and take over Tiki Island once and for all. So he comes up with a devious plan to grab a kid, any kid, knowing that the Neon Tiki Tribe come to “save the day.” That’s when he and the Ku Tikis will be able to “pounce” on them!
Jimmy and his friend Isaac just happen to be walking home from school when a mysterious sports car pulls up with a “masked” Kunatos behind the wheel.
Kunatos draws Jimmy and Isaac into a conversation about an ice cream party that the Neon Tiki Tribe are having that day. It’s obvious to Jimmy that it’s not true, but Isaac becomes convinced that Kunatos knows his dad and it will be fine to go with him to the party. When Isaac gets in the car, Jimmy immediately runs home and calls Greg and the Neon Tiki Tribe for help.
Will the Tikis and police be able to find Isaac? How could Jimmy and Isaac have handled the situation better? Was Jimmy able to get some key details (description, license plate number, color of the car) about the abductor that would help the police locate him? While this is a very serious subject, children can learn how to deal with dangers of strangers, and will learn how to use “Safe Words” that only they and their guardians will know to help keep them safe.
(Parents / Teachers / Guardians– While child abduction is a very serious issue to discuss, we’ve tried to address it delicately by using “fictional” bad guys in a funny cartoon setting so that it’s not overly scary. Our intent with this story is to “start and continue a conversation” about keeping our children safe and by having “safe” words between them and their guardians so that we don’t lose a single child to abduction.)
